The Magic have waived guard Patrick Beverley and guard/forward Terrence Ross, the team announced in a press release.
Beverly, 34, is 6-foot-1 and was acquired in a trade with the Lakers at last week’s deadline, with the Magic sending Mo Bamba to LA.
Beverley averaged 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds, shooting 41 percent from the field in 45 games. He has also spent time with the Timberwolves, Clippers and Rockets.
Ross, 32, is 6-6 and averaging 8.0 points and shooting 43 percent from the field in 42 games. His scoring average and minutes per game (22.5) are the lowest since his rookie season of 2012-13.
He is expected to sign with the Suns, as we relayed here.
The Magic had trade conversations regarding Ross but were unable to land a deal ahead of Thursday’s deadline. He made it known before the season that he would like to play for a contender, though never requested a trade.
Both players will have to wait 48 hours to clear waivers before entering free agency.
