The Magic have signed free agent guard Devin Cannady to a 10-day contract, the team announced in a press release.
Cannady, 25, is 6-foot-2 and has appeared in 16 games with the Lakeland Magic of the G League this season, averaging 15.8 points and 2.8 rebounds. He has been shooting 47 percent on 3-pointers in the G League.
He is the reigning G League Final MVP after helping Lakeland win the title last season. Cannady appeared in eight games with Orlando last season as well, averaging 4.0 points. He was then waived by the Magic in training camp.
Canady is filling the available roster spot created after Jeff Dowtin‘s 10-day contract expired. Dowtin appeared in four games.
Signing Cannady is just another way for the Magic to audition players in hopes of making strides next season.
