Free agent guard Mario Chalmers has been acquired by the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the G League, as relayed by JD Shaw of Hoops Rumors.
Chalmers recently signed a 10-day contract with the Heat, but that deal expired Sunday. He did not appear in a game.
Chalmers, 35, spent his first seven seasons in Miami, played in four straight Finals and won two championships alongside LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. But he hasn’t played an actual game in the NBA since 2018.
He had, however, been playing for the G League’s Grand Rapids Gold (Nuggets affiliate) to start the season. In two games with the Gold, he averaged 8.5 points and 3.0 assists.
Chalmers last played with the Grizzlies (2015-16), before heading overseas.
The Skyforce are the Heat’s G League affiliate. Chalmers is represented by agent Jerry Dianis.
