The Thunder have reached agreement on a multiyear contract extension with coach Mark Daigneault, the team announced in a press release.
Daigneault, 38, has compiled an 86-150 record in three years with the Thunder, including 40-42 last season — a 16-game improvement. He finished runner-up to the Kings’ Mike Brown in Coach of the Year voting.
Aliong with that, OKC defeated the Pelicans in the play-in tournament, before falling to the Timberwolves and losing out on the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.
Prior to being hired as Thunder coach in 2020, Daigneault spent five seasons as head coach of the Oklahoma City Blue. His career began as an assistant at Holy Cross, following a sting as an an assistant under current Bulls coach Billy Donovan at Florida.
