The Nets are in advanced contract talks with free agent forward Markieff Morris, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Morris, 32, is 6-foot-9 and appeared in 17 games with the Heat last season before becoming an unrestricted free agent. He missed 58 games after being in an early-November scuffle with Nuggets star Nikola Jokic, rejoining the team in March.
Last season, Morris averaged 7.6 points and 2.6 rebounds, shooting 47 percent from the field. He has also spent time with the Lakers, Pistons, Thunder, Wizards and Suns since entering the league in 2011.
The Nets have an open roster spot and per the New York Post’s Brian Lewis, are on the lookout for a veteran frontcourt player. They recently agreed to a deal with forward Yuta Watanabe (full post) and have been linked to center Tristan Thompson (full post).
