Anthony Davis is not banging the table for a trade. Even if his agent might be.

During the Lakers-Mavericks broadcast Sunday, ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reported that agent Rich Paul has made it known he believes a trade could be in Davis’ best interest. Davis, however, does not appear to share that urgency.

According to MacMahon (via BasketNews), he has not been pushing for a move and is comfortable staying in Dallas.

That matters, especially with Davis currently sidelined and working his way back from ligament damage in his left hand.

Davis has returned to Dallas and begun light on-court work while wearing a protective glove, easing into rehab without surgery. Because the injury is to his non-shooting hand, he has been able to stay engaged and keep some basketball rhythm as the recovery progresses.

The rough expectation remains a six-week timeline, likely pushing his return until after the All-Star break.

The Mavericks are being careful. Davis has already missed significant time this season with a calf strain and a groin issue, and he has sat out more than half of Dallas’ games. When he has played, the production has been there. Scoring. Rebounding. Defensive presence. Real impact.

Even while out, Davis has stayed involved around the team, alongside Kyrie Irving, whose leadership has also been important as Dallas tries to find stability.
