Mavericks’ Kyrie Irving Has ‘Deep Desire’ To Play For Team USA In Paris Olympics

According to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving has a “deep desire” to play for Team USA in the Paris Olympics this summer.

Irving won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympics. He also won gold and MVP at the 2014 FIBA World Cup. 

Irving is one of the best basketball players in the world. He’s averaging 25.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists for the Mavericks this season while shooting 49.3% from the field, 41.7% from beyond the arc and 90.6% from the free-throw line. 

According to Charania and Joe Vardon, LeBron JamesStephen CurryKevin DurantJoel EmbiidJayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday will play for Team USA in the 2024 Olympics. 

Team USA won its fourth straight Olympic title at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

LeBron, Durant and Curry, three of the greatest players in NBA history, have never played in the Olympics together as a trio. LeBron and Durant have won a gold medal together. 

Irving and LeBron were teammates on the Cleveland Cavaliers for three seasons. They led the Cavaliers to the 2016 NBA title. 

An eight-time All-Star, Irving has career NBA averages of 23.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.7 assists with the Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets and Mavericks.
