The Mavericks are signing veteran point guard Brandon Knight to a 10-day contract via the hardship exception, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Knight, 30, is 6-foot-3 and has been playing for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the G League. He has spent time with the Pistons, Bucks, Cavaliers, Rockets and Suns since entering the league as the No. 8 overall draft pick in 2011. Overall, Knight has appeared in 446 games.
He signed with the Skyforce ahead of the season in hopes of an NBA comeback, and has fared well — averaging 21.3 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.6 rebounds in 11 games. Prior to joining Sioux Falls, he was signed and waived by the Knicks in training camp.
The Mavs’ roster has been in absolute flux, as the NBA continues on despite all of its missing regulars.
