The Dallas Mavericks are interested in Charlotte Hornets power forward P.J. Washington as they look to shore up their big man rotation, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Washington is among the many players on Charlotte’s roster who are considered available ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline. The Los Angeles Clippers could also have an interest in Washington.
Any Mavs deal for Washington could potentially include Dallas shooting guard Josh Green.
“League sources also say that the Hornets have designs on pursuing Josh Green from Dallas if P.J. Washington talks with the Mavericks go anywhere,” Stein wrote. “The Mavericks, you’ll recall, refused to part with Green at the draft last June when Atlanta offered Clint Capela and the No. 15 pick to Dallas for Green and the No. 10 selection. The Mavericks subsequently signed Green to a three-year, $41 million contract extension in October.”
Dallas has also been linked to Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma.
Less than four days to go until the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline.
