Mavericks star guard Luka Doncic is expected to return to the lineup for Wednesday’s game vs. the Warriors, as relayed by Tim MacMahon of ESPN.
Doncic has missed the previous five games with a left thigh strain. He is officially listed as probable.
Meanwhile, point guard Kyrie Irving is listed as questionable with right foot soreness, per Mavs PR. Irving suffered a foot injury in Monday’s loss to the Grizzlies and left the arena in a walking boot. He said he hopes to play vs. Golden State.
“I just gotta make it back home to Dallas and start my recovery work and do everything I can to prepare for the next day and a half,” Irving said. “Take time, rest and exhaust all my options to be ready to play the next game.
“I was really worried about my ankle being sprained, but once we came back here. It wasn’t, it was just a reaggravation of that same spot on the top of my right foot… It went in a position where I could only re-aggravate my big toe. Again, unfortunate, but just looking forward to the next 48 hours.”
The Mavs (36-36) enter the game in eighth-place in the jumbled Western Conference standings, but can change all that by beating the Warriors (37-36), who are in sixth.
Luka Dončić (left thigh strain) has been upgraded to probable for tonight’s game against the Warriors.
Tim Hardaway Jr. (non-Covid illness), Kyrie Irving (right foot soreness) and Markieff Morris (left knee soreness) all remain questionable.
