The Dallas Mavericks and Detroit Pistons are showing interest in Charlotte Hornets small forward Miles Bridges ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline, per Matt Moore of Action Network.
The Sacramento Kings also could be interested as they look for upgrades at the forward position.
Meanwhile, the Hornets are believed to be open to trading everyone on the roster except point guard LaMelo Ball, rookie forward Brandon Williams and center Mark Williams. That means guard Terry Rozier and Bridges are sure to draw plenty of interest.
“Terry Rozier’s name has started to come up despite being signed through 2026. (His 25-26 season is not fully guaranteed but guaranteed for $24 million.),” Moore wrote. “Miles Bridges, who put his wife in the hospital two years ago, is a popular trade target. Sacramento, Detroit, and Dallas are mentioned as teams who have shown interest.”
Bridges, 25, will be an unrestricted free agent after the season, something that any team that may trade for him is sure to consider.
He is averaging 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals, shooting 46 percent from the floor and 35 percent on 3-pointers. He is making $7.9 million after re-signing with Charlotte over the summer.
The 12th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Bridges carries career averages of 14.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
Dallas is believed to be among the most active teams ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline, aiming to find someone to offer a boost next to star guards Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
As for the Pistons, they are looking to shake up the roster and continue to build around guard Cade Cunningham, given their second straight awful season in which they set an NBA record with 28 consecutive losses.
