The Mavericks have released center/forward Chris Silva ahead of the expiration of his 10-day contract, the team announced in a press release.
This likely was the result of the Mavs needing to create a roster spot for guard/forward Justin Holiday, who is set to sign after clearing waivers. Holiday was released by the Rockets following a trade-deadline deal with the Hawks.
Silva, 26, is 6-foot-8 and has appeared in one game with the Mavericks after signing his first 10-day deal on Jan. 31.
Before that, he had been playing with the College Park of the Skyhawks of the G League, averaging 14.2 points and 7.6 rebounds in 11 games, shooting 59 percent from the field.
Silva attended training camp with the Hawks but was waived before the start of the regular season. He has also spent time with the Heat (on two occasions), Timberwolves and Kings since going unselected in the 2019 NBA Draft.
