Warriors forward Draymond Green has been suspended for five games for his role in an altercations during Tuesday’s game vs. the Timberwolves, the NBA announced in a press release.
In addition, Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson and Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels and center Rudy Gobert were each fined $25,000.
According to the NBA’s announcement, Green was suspended for “escalating an on-court altercation and forcibly grabbing (Gobert) around the neck in an unsportsmanlike and dangerous manner.”
Green’s history of “unsportsmanlike acts” also played a role, the statement read.
Green’s ejection on Tuesday was his second in three games. He was also ejected in Saturday’s home loss to the Cavaliers, after he received two technicals.
Green will not be paid during his ejection. The Warriors (6-6) have lost three straight, all at home, and will also be without the injured Stephen Curry for Thursday’s game vs. the Thunder.
