The NBA has suspended Warriors forward Draymond Green indefinitely for his actions in Tuesday’s road loss to the Suns, the league announced.
Green will be “required to meet certain league and team conditions before he returns to play,” league officials said in a statement.
This marks Green’s second suspension of the season. He first was suspended five games for putting Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a chokehold.
This time, Green smacked backwards and connected with Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face, sending him to the floor in pain.
Green apologized afterward, calling it an accident.
“We need him,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters. “We need Draymond. But he knows that, we’ve talked to him. He’s got to find a way to keep his poise and be out there for his teammates… if we’re gonna be a really good team, we need him.”
Wojnarowski added, “Green, Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr., and Green’s agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports are expected to meet Thursday to start discussing a path of counseling and help for Green to move forward, sources said.”
