NBA Notes: Kings, Keegan Murray, Pelicans, Dejounte Murray, Lakers

Kings

Keegan Murray is back on the floor, though his left ankle still requires some management.

Murray made his preseason debut Saturday against Golden State after missing Sacramento’s first two games. He said afterward that he had “a little setback” with the ankle during training camp.

“I’ve been dealing with it for a little while, so right now it’s just basically managing it, getting it ready for games,” Murray said, via Sean Cunningham of KCRA.

Murray was limited to 23 games last season after dealing with several injuries and underwent arthroscopic ankle surgery in May. He scored five points in eight minutes Saturday.

Pelicans

Dejounte Murray remains sidelined by a toe contusion. The Pelicans guard did not practice Saturday after also missing Thursday’s preseason game.

Coach Jamahl Mosley told Rod Walker of NOLA.com that New Orleans is taking a precautionary approach.

“We’re just going to keep evaluating him and how he responds to the treatment we’re giving him,” Mosley said.

Lakers

The Lakers are still waiting on preseason debuts from Walker Kessler and Collin Sexton.

Kessler, who is dealing with a jammed finger, participated in portions of Saturday’s practice but did not take part in live drills.

JJ Redick said the Lakers are “not committed” to playing him Tuesday against Golden State, according to Thuc Nhi Nguyen of the Los Angeles Times.

Redick added that Sexton, who is dealing with a lower-leg issue, is “probably a little bit further behind” Kessler.

The Lakers have two preseason games remaining before opening the regular season Oct. 21.
