Filou Oostende of Belgium’s Pro Basketball League has signed 26-year-old American guard Devontae Shuler, per Eurobasket. The 6-foot-2 Shuler spent last season with the Cleveland Charge in the NBA G League, where he averaged 8.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists over 37 games.
Shuler also played for the Cavaliers in the 2023 Summer League. His professional career includes stints with the Indiana Mad Ants and Capital City Go-Go in the G League.
A 2021 graduate of Ole Miss, this will be Shuler’s fourth season as a professional.
Williams Jr. signs in Cyprus
APOEL Nicosia of the OPAP Basket League has signed 25-year-old American forward Eric Williams Jr. for the upcoming season. The 6-7 Williams, a 2023 graduate of the University of San Diego, spent last season with Takeover in The Basketball Tournament (TBT), where he averaged 3.0 points and 3.0 rebounds over four games. He also played for Reales de La Vega in the Dominican Republic’s LNB.
Williams was selected third overall in the 2022 NBA G League draft by the Canton Charge. He has previously played professionally for Polonia in Poland and the Memphis Hustle in the G League. While in college, Williams was part of San Diego’s Portsmouth Invitational Tournament-winning team in 2023 and was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team in 2018. He also played for the University of Oregon and Duquesne University.
Alkins heads to Greece
Aris Midea Thessaloniki of the Greek Basket League has signed 26-year-old American shooting guard Rawle Alkins. The 6-5 Alkins played this summer in Puerto Rico’s BSN league, averaging 7.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in seven games. Last season, he competed in the Israeli Winner League, where he averaged 15.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 4.5 assists over 32 games, earning All-Israeli League Second Team honors.
Alkins, a University of Arizona graduate, has previous experience in Germany, Portugal, the NBA, and the NBA G League. He also played for the Rockets in the NBA Summer League. This will be his seventh professional season.
