The Minnesota Timberwolves intend to sign forward Justin Jackson to a 10-day contract, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Jackson, 28, is 6-foot-8 and appeared in 23 games with the Boston Celtics last season, before a February trade sent him to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was waived by OKC the next day and hasn’t played in the NBA since.
The No. 15 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Jackson has spent time with the Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, Thunder and Celtics. He carries career averages of 6.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.3 steals in 278 total games.
He has not appeared in more than 34 games since the 2018-19 season with Dallas. He’s been averaging 19.9 points with the Texas Legends, the Mavs’ G League affiliate.
The Timberwolves (39-16) sport the best record in the Western Conference, and the second-best in the NBA behind the Celtics.
