Cavaliers
Cavaliers big man Evan Mobley holds himself to a high standard. Maybe higher than anyone else does.
After the Cavs won at Dallas on Friday, Mobley admitted that this season has not gone exactly the way he envisioned.
“You always have high standards for yourself,” Mobley said, via Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com. “I wanted to come out and dominate this year. Injuries. Different things. It doesn’t always go as planned.”
Still, Mobley kept the bigger picture in mind.
“But you always keep going,” he said. “The end goal is championship. We’re still in a good spot right now. Just got to keep stacking days.”
Knicks
The Knicks sit near the top of the Eastern Conference standings. That does not mean coach Mike Brown is satisfied.
After Sunday’s loss to the Warriors, Brown was clearly frustrated with his team’s effort. He has made a habit of naming a Defensive Player of the Game this season. This time, he declined.
Brown was also asked about the uneven play of Mikal Bridges, who finished with seven points in 21 minutes.
“We all have to play better,” Brown told reporters. “It’s no secret that Mikal has not shot the ball well. He’s given us life at times. But it’s not just Mikal. It’s us collectively as a group.”
Kings
It appears Killian Hayes has found a home with the Kings.
Hayes signed a two-year contract after completing two 10-day deals and has quickly worked his way into the rotation.
For Hayes, it represents stability after bouncing around the league in recent years.
“This is what I’ve been working for all year to get back in the league,” Hayes said, via Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee. “I’m just super grateful to be here.”
