Kings

The Kings are planning to sign guard Killian Hayes to a 10-day contract, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Hayes, the seventh overall pick in the 2020 draft, never found consistency in Detroit and has spent most of the past two seasons outside the NBA. Still just 24, he’s rebuilt value in the G League, most recently with the Cleveland Charge, where he’s put up strong numbers as a primary ball-handler.

Sacramento has an open roster spot, making this a clean evaluation play. No long-term commitment. No roster gymnastics. Just a look at whether Hayes can translate production into a rotation role.

Pacers

Injuries continue to stack up for the Pacers. Wing Aaron Nesmith will miss at least another week with a right ankle sprain, according to coach Rick Carlisle, via Forbes’ Tony East.

Indiana has been stretched thin all season, losing multiple rotation players for long stretches. The good news is Pascal Siakam is set to return Sunday after a brief absence. They’ll need him. Few teams have tested depth more than this one.

Sixers

The 76ers announced rookie big Johni Broome suffered a lateral meniscus tear while playing for the G League’s Delaware Blue Coats, and treatment options are still being evaluated.

Broome hasn’t cracked Philadelphia’s rotation, but he’s been productive in the G League and remains part of the team’s longer-term picture. Unfortunately, this season has hit pause before it ever really started.
