West Notes: Lakers, Andrew Wiggins, Suns, Clippers

Lakers

The Lakers want more help on the wing, and Andrew Wiggins’ name keeps surfacing.

The Heat forward was mentioned again this week, though Lakers beat reporter Jovan Buha said on his Buha’s Block podcast that any deal is unlikely without a first-round pick.

He added that a package built around Dalton Knecht, Rui Hachimura and Gabe Vincent probably wouldn’t be enough to move Miami.

Suns

Phoenix brought back Nigel Hayes-Davis in July on a one-year deal, giving the forward another shot at the NBA after seven years overseas. The Athletic’s Doug Haller chronicled Hayes-Davis’ long road back.

“Is it the one I thought about as a child growing up? Of course not,” Hayes-Davis said. “But it’s been fantastic.”

Clippers

The Clippers and Kawhi Leonard remain under the microscope over Leonard’s “no-show” endorsement deal with the now-defunct green bank Aspiration.

ESPN’s Shwetha Surendran dug into the company’s model and high-profile investors, as the NBA investigates whether the arrangement amounted to salary-cap circumvention.
