Lakers forward LeBron James drew criticism from Memphis fans after suggesting the Grizzlies could relocate to Nashville during a recent appearance on the Bob Does Sports YouTube show.

“Staying at the f—ing Hyatt at 41 years old, you think I want to do that s—?” James said, via The Athletic and The Memphis Commercial Appeal. “Being in Memphis on a random-ass Thursday. … We’re all like, ‘You guys have to move.’”

The comments were met with backlash locally, as noted by multiple outlets.

Pelicans

Pelicans forward Zion Williamson has triggered a partial guarantee on his 2026-27 salary.

By appearing in his 61st game of the season on Friday, Williamson ensured that at least 80% of his $42.17 million salary for next season will be guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks.

The remaining 20% will become guaranteed if he meets certain weight-related benchmarks or remains under contract through July 15.

Grizzlies

Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke was arrested in Arkansas following a high-speed incident, according to Lucas Finton of The Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Per the report, Clarke led authorities on a miles-long chase while driving in excess of 100 miles per hour. After being stopped, officers discovered more than 230 grams of kratom in his possession.

Kratom is legal in Tennessee but classified as a Schedule 1 controlled substance in Arkansas.
