Lakers

The Lakers needed one of those nights and got it.

Luka Doncic poured in 36 points with nine rebounds and eight assists, LeBron James added 26 points and 10 assists, and Los Angeles rallied past Memphis, 120-114, for its second home win over the Grizzlies in three days.

Jake LaRavia continued to torment his former team, finishing with 26 points, while Deandre Ayton chipped in 15. The Lakers erased an 11-point third-quarter deficit and finally grabbed control on Doncic pull-up jumper with just over 5 minutes left.

The win came with Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves still sidelined by calf injuries, and it snapped a rough stretch after Los Angeles had dropped four of five.

Memphis was again without Ja Morant, who has now missed 15 of the past 21 games.

Suns

Devin Booker saved his best shot for last.

Booker buried a contested three with 0.7 seconds remaining to lift Phoenix past the Thunder, 108-105, snapping Oklahoma City’s four-game winning streak.

Jordan Goodwin had the night of his career with 26 points and a personal-best eight threes, while Phoenix survived blowing a late four-point lead after trailing by as many as 18 earlier.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 25 in the loss as the Thunder fell to 30-6.

Timberwolves

Minnesota made it look easy.

Anthony Edwards scored 35 points, Julius Randle added 22, and the Timberwolves rolled past Washington, 141-115, completing a season sweep.

Rudy Gobert posted 18 points and 14 rebounds as Minnesota dominated the paint 76-48. Edwards had 16 in the first quarter alone and didn’t need to play in the fourth.

The Timberwolves went 3-1 on their road trip and hung 140-plus points for the third time this season, while Washington allowed 140 for the fourth time.
