The Sixers are looking for more stability in the middle. Joel Embiid had one of the roughest shooting nights of his career in Sunday’s loss to the Lakers, finishing 4-of-21 from the field.

Backup center Andre Drummond posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards, but Philadelphia was still outscored by 15 points during his 18 minutes.

As Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer notes, both bigs had trouble defensively against Deandre Ayton and Jaxson Hayes, who combined to go 8-of-8 from the floor.

Knicks

Reserve guard Tyler Kolek turned last year’s NBA Cup prize money into a new car for his mother. This season, he joked the next one will be for his dad.

Kolek didn’t play in last year’s quarterfinal, but he’s become part of coach Mike Brown’s rotation and was a +13 in less than eight minutes during Tuesday’s win over Toronto.

As for New York’s center depth, Ariel Hukporti continues to flash intriguing traits. Brown called him “one of the fastest bigs I’ve ever been around,” per Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News.

Hukporti logged a season-high 23 minutes Sunday against Orlando, but played just over a minute Tuesday and was sent to the G League on Wednesday.

International

Monte Morris is officially headed overseas. Olympiacos announced the signing of the veteran guard, finalizing a one-year deal first reported by Eurohoops.

Morris became a free agent last month after the Pacers waived him; he appeared in six games for Indiana while working back from a calf injury.

The 30-year-old has logged NBA stops with the Nuggets, Pistons, Timberwolves and Suns, and now joins an Olympiacos roster that includes former NBA players Frank Ntilikina, Saben Lee and Evan Fournier.
