
Thunder
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 34 points as the defending champions beat the visiting Spurs 119-98 on Tuesday night, giving Oklahoma City its first win in four tries against San Antonio this season.
Jalen Williams added 20 points and Chet Holmgren finished with eight points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. The Thunder improved to a league-best 34-7 at the midway point, rebounding from a brief lull that included three losses to the Spurs. Oklahoma City has now won four straight.
The Thunder played without starters Isaiah Hartenstein and Luguentz Dort, yet still held San Antonio to 40 percent shooting. The teams meet one final time Feb. 4 in San Antonio.
Rockets
Kevin Durant scored 28 points and Alperen Sengun added 23 points and 11 assists as the host Rockets edged the Bulls, 119-113.
The game featured 35 lead changes before Houston pulled away late. Trailing by one with just over three minutes remaining, the Rockets closed on a 7-2 run.
Durant ignited the stretch with a dunk, while Jabari Smith Jr. hit a key three. Amen Thompson scored 23 points as Houston snapped a three-game losing streak.
Heat
Bam Adebayo scored 29 points and Norman Powell added 27 as Miami survived a blown 20-point lead to beat the visiting Suns, 127-121.
Powell hit the go-ahead three with 48 seconds left, and Andrew Wiggins sealed it at the line after a flagrant foul on Dillon Brooks. Adebayo passed Alonzo Mourning for second on Miami’s all-time scoring list, trailing only Dwyane Wade.
Tyler Herro scored 23 as the Heat snapped a three-game skid.
