NBA Notes: Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards, Nets, Pacers

Timberwolves

Tempers flared, and the Timberwolves channeled that fiery energy to power past the Suns 121-113, extending their win streak to three games.NBA, Timberwolves, Michael Jordan, Anthony Edwards

The catalyst? Head coach Chris Finch’s ejection in the third quarter, which seemed to ignite the Wolves. With Finch out, interim coach Micah Nori steered the ship, and Minnesota surged in the final frame, thanks in large part to Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

After a scary injury scare in the previous game, Alexander-Walker was lights out, hitting three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and finishing with 23 points.

Anthony Edwards added 33 points, seven rebounds, and four blocks in a strong all-around performance, though he struggled with turnovers.

The Timberwolves were also without Naz Reid (illness) and Donte DiVincenzo (toe), but the depth stepped up — Jaylen Clark made an impact defensively, and Luka Garza contributed early.

Despite a strong showing from Kevin Durant (33 points) and Devin Booker (28 points, 9 turnovers), the Suns couldn’t recover from Minnesota’s late run. The Timberwolves showed grit on a back-to-back, securing a key win before heading to Salt Lake City to face the Utah Jazz.

Nets

Keon Johnson led a balanced Nets attack with 18 points as they snapped a seven-game losing streak, defeating the Hornets 104-83 on Wednesday night. The Nets dominated from start to finish, never trailing in the game.

Jalen Wilson chipped in with 15 points, while Tosan Evbuomwan added 14 in the win. Ben Simmons made a strong return after missing five games due to illness and a back injury, contributing 10 points and six rebounds off the bench.

Pacers

Pascal Siakam poured in 37 points, Tyrese Haliburton added 30 points and eight assists, and the Pacers cruised past the Pistons 133-119. Siakam and Haliburton were lights out, combining to hit 25 of 38 shots, including 8 of 16 from beyond the arc.

Indiana’s offense was red-hot from the start, scoring 40 first-quarter points on 16-of-20 shooting, including 7 of 10 from 3-point range. The Pacers finished shooting 56.8% overall, hitting 19 of 38 from deep. Myles Turner contributed 24 points in the win as Indiana ran away with it.
