Warriors
Forward Draymond Green has been fined by the Warriors for his actions in a practice altercation with shooting guard Jordan Poole, per Kendra Andrews of ESPN.
Green will return to the Warriors on Thursday after a little time away. He reportedly was not suspended by the team, however.
“This is the biggest crisis that we’ve had since I’ve been the coach here,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said, via Andrews. “It’s really serious stuff. We’re not perfect. … But we’re going to lean on the experience that we have together and trust that this is the best decision for our team. We have a lot of work to do. All of us.”
Kerr added that Green should play in the Warriors’ preseason finale on Friday and that Green will be available for the season-opener vs. the Lakers.
- Poole met with Green, Kerr, star guard Steph Curry and other teammates following the incident, per Andrews. “(Poole is) willing to move forward and willing to get back out on the floor with Draymond and go to work,” Kerr said, via Andrews.
- In case you missed it, rumors have already surfaced that Green will bolt for the Lakers in free agency after the season. We have that full post right here.
Pistons
- Forward/center Marvin Bagley III will miss time to start the season after suffering a right knee injury, though there’s relief the injury isn’t serious, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. An MRI revealed the extent of the injury, Wojnarowski added.
Pacers
- The Pacers are picking up the fourth-year option on guard Tyrese Haliburton and third-year option on shooting guard Chris Duarte, per Wojnarowski. Both players are expected to be long-term and key pieces to Indiana’s rebuild.
- The Pacers are signing guard Trevelin Queen to a two-way contract, as relayed by Wilson Moore of the Indianapolis Star. Queen was waived by the 76ers earlier in the week (full post).
