The Cavaliers played their best game of the NBA playoffs all season, and perhaps since 2018, in the Game 2 road win over the Celtics.
Now all they need to do now is figure out how to bottle it up and bring it with them as the series shifts back to Cleveland. No problem, right?
Well, we shall see. But no matter how you spin it, the series is tied at 1-all and the Cavs showed they know how to bounce back.
I discussed all that and more with special guest Kenny Roda and co-hosts John Sabol and Chase Smith on the latest Cavs on the Break podcast. Listen here on Apple Podcasts or in either of the players directly below.
As I wrote about in the latest Dribbles, maybe the Cavaliers did indeed find something here. It’s hard to know, because it’s been a while since they’ve put two really good games together.
But they have done it, and if they intend to do it again, there is no time like the present. Boston finished with the NBA’s best record, and I’m starting to think the Cavs play better when they’re considered the (heavy) underdogs.
That is where they are today. Granted, the Celtics also lost Game 2 to the Miami Heat in the first round — then went on to blast the Heat in the next three games. They finished 64-18 for a reason. That said, the Heat didn’t have Jimmy Butler and they certainly didn’t have anyone like Donovan Mitchell.
Question is, can the rest of the Cavs keep it going? Again, check out the podcast to hear our thoughts.
