The NBA will be using full-colored courts for all 30 teams during the inaugural In-Season Tournament, which tips off Friday as part of the schedule.
The courts will be used for Group Play and the Quarterfinals and feature a considerably different look than what’s used for your typical regular-season game.
Not only is the tourney a first, but according to a statement from the league this is a first for a “unified look represents the first time that the league has implemented an alternate court for all 30 teams and the first time that any NBA team has played on a fully painted court with no woodgrain details.”
While the tournament was supposedly a way for the NBA to drum up some interest during it’s 82-game season, the jury is very much still out on if it will mean anything to fans.
The semifinals and championship will be held in Las Vegas.
