Kings
The Kings continue to explore the market on Domantas Sabonis, and talks with the Raptors have centered on larger, multi-player constructions.
According to James Ham of The Kings Beat, Sacramento has discussed three-for-one or four-for-one frameworks with Toronto.
Any package would likely start with RJ Barrett and could also include Ochai Agbaji and Gradey Dick. Sacramento would love to pry loose rookie Collin Murray-Boyles, though Ham notes that’s the piece Toronto is expected to fight hardest to keep.
Michael Scotto of HoopsHype has also heard Barrett and Agbaji surface repeatedly in Sabonis discussions, reinforcing the idea that Toronto is at least kicking the tires.
Nothing appears imminent, but the Kings remain one of the league’s most active teams.
Mavericks
Earlier this season, the Mavericks sought multiple first-round picks or a high-end player in talks involving Anthony Davis, per ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
There were no takers at that price, even before Davis suffered his latest injury, a hand issue that will sideline him through the deadline.
A pre-deadline deal now appears unlikely, though not impossible. Any movement would likely require the Mavericks to lower their ask to one strong asset plus matching salary.
With no urgency, waiting until the offseason may make more sense.
Dallas is expected to focus instead on trimming future salary. Klay Thompson, Daniel Gafford, and D’Angelo Russell are all viewed as potential candidates to be flipped into expiring money, helping ease the cap picture for 2026-27.
Pistons
Detroit does not appear poised for a major shake-up. Hunter Patterson of The Athletic reports the Pistons have not engaged in trade talks involving Tobias Harris, whom coach J.B. Bickerstaff has referred to as his “security blanket.”
The Pistons will stay opportunistic and still hold a $14 million trade exception, but with that exception not expiring until July, there’s little pressure to act this week.
The bigger moves, if any, may wait until the summer.
