Trade Proposal Sends Suns’ Kevin Durant To Rockets In Multi-Player Blockbuster

In a hypothetical NBA trade proposal suggested by ESPN’s Bobby Marks, the Houston Rockets are positioned to acquire the Phoenix Suns’ biggest star, Kevin Durant, potentially marking the end of the Suns’ big three era.Kevin Durant, Suns, Rockets, NBA

This trade package would also include forward Bol Bol, guard Monte Morris, and guard Damion Lee heading to Houston in exchange for a haul of assets going to Phoenix.

Rockets receive:

  • Kevin Durant
  • Bol Bol
  • Monte Morris
  • Damion Lee

Suns receive:

This deal comes with some risk for the Suns, who might be contemplating the future of their roster after a rocky start to the season.

If Suns owner Mat Ishbia were to pivot and decide that a retooling around Devin Booker, rather than holding onto Durant, is the right move, Houston’s appealing mix of young players and draft picks could make this trade a serious consideration.

As for the Rockets, acquiring Durant would be a massive leap forward. The trade would give them a starting five of Fred VanVleet, Jalen Green, Amen Thompson, Durant, and Alperen Sengun, a mix of veteran leadership and exciting young talent.

From Phoenix’s side, the addition of Brooks, Whitmore, and Tate — plus the return of their own future picks — would offer a solid mix of defense, versatility, and potential. Although the Suns are currently over the second apron, they can include veteran minimum contracts in this trade without violating aggregation rules, making this deal technically feasible.

While this trade scenario is unlikely, it’s worth noting that it could mark a significant shift for both franchises, with the Suns pivoting to a more balanced future and the Rockets jumping into the playoff picture with an elite star in Durant.
