Pacers

Bennedict Mathurin is on the block.

Indiana has been fielding calls from multiple teams, including the Clippers, Hawks, Mavericks, Nets, Pelicans, and Timberwolves, sources tell Hoops Wire. The goal is clear, as the Pacers are shopping Mathurin as part of a push to land a starting-caliber center.

Mathurin remains a young, talented scorer with upside, but Indiana appears willing to pivot roster balance over long-term projection. If the right big man becomes available, Mathurin is the kind of piece teams expect to see in the middle of the deal.

Nets

Cam Thomas is available, and Brooklyn wants something back before he walks.

Thomas is headed toward unrestricted free agency this summer, and the Nets are attempting to flip him for an asset rather than risk losing him for nothing. The pitch is simple. Instant offense. Microwave scoring. Bench firepower.

On a contender, Thomas profiles as a plug-and-play scoring guard who can swing a playoff quarter with shot-making alone. Defense and playmaking remain questions. Buckets are not.

If a team needs scoring punch, Brooklyn is open for business.

Lakers

Dalton Knecht is not drawing much interest.

The Lakers have been shopping the second-year wing along with expiring contracts in hopes of landing a rotation upgrade, but the market has been lukewarm at best. Teams are not lining up.

Knecht is averaging 7.7 points and shooting 36.4 percent from three after being drafted No. 17 overall in 2024. Solid numbers. Limited buzz.

So the Lakers appear stuck in familiar territory: Wanting to make a move, willing to include young talent, and waiting for another team to care.

  1. Mathurin to the Clippers would be great for basketball.

Knecht news is hard to believe. Maybe they were asking too much last season / offseason, and scared teams away. Seemed like a good player before he got Bronnied.
