Pacers, Thunder, Kings, Grizzlies Linked To Nets’ Cam Johnson

And perhaps another contender has entered the sweepstakes for Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson. That would be none other than the Indiana Pacers, according to NBA insider Marc Stein of The Stein Line.Cam Johnson, Nets, NBA

How the Pacers would go about such a deal, or what they might offer, remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings and others may also be in pursuit. However, Sacramento is making it clear they are not willing to part with Devin Carter in any potential deal, Stein wrote.

The Kings are in a delicate position, looking to bolster their roster, but not at the cost of one of their younger, promising talents. So while Johnson would be a solid addition to the squad, Sacramento’s front office is determined to keep Carter, whose future looks bright.

Also, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been repeatedly linked to Johnson, with speculation growing that they could be a potential landing spot. The Thunder have a multitude of picks, which is what the Nets are seeking.

Johnson, who brings versatility and shooting ability, could fit the mold of what OKC is targeting.

Additionally, the Memphis Grizzlies are reportedly still keeping an eye on Johnson’s situation. That said, there appears to be some tension between the two sides. Stein’s sources have suggested that the Grizzlies hold “hard feelings” after failed trade talks involving Dorian Finney-Smith.

For now, Johnson remains a player in demand, with teams like the Pacers, Kings, Thunder, and Grizzlies all showing varying levels of interest, but obstacles persist for any of them in securing a deal. The NBA trade deadline is Feb. 6.
