Spurs, Rockets, Lakers Linked To Kings’ De’Aaron Fox

Should the Kings decide to make De’Aaron Fox available, there would be plenty of interest across the entire NBA. No surprise there.De'Aaron Fox, Sacramento Kings, NBA

Now, will Sacramento make Fox available? It seems highly unlikely — unless he demands it. That also seems doubtful, but this is the NBA and a whole lot can change between now and the trade deadline.

The Fox rumors started creeping up last week, as the Kings have struggled to resemble the West contenders of two seasons ago. They’ve regressed. Now, they look like play-in contenders, and little more.

Again, a lot can change between now and the end of the regular season in April. But today, there are rumors. Fox is represented by super agent Rich Paul, who has been known to seek better situations for his star clients.

And as we’ve relayed, if Fox does seek a trade, keep an eye on the Spurs. The Rockets and Lakers could also be in the mix, according to NBA insider Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

“Now, if Fox is going to ask out, it seems like the tea leaves are pointing that way,” MacMahon said on The Hoop Collective podcast, via HoopsHype. “Still, I’m not sure it’s definite. When you’re appearing on podcasts with Draymond Green and laying groundwork, you can see how people read into it.

“… If Fox asks out, teams like San Antonio and Houston are the ones to watch. I’ve also heard rumors about the Lakers, but it’s hard to tell how much of that is just speculation because he’s a Klutch client.

“There’s also been talk about Miami, given his connection to Bam Adebayo. Who knows what other suitors might emerge, or which of these teams will actually pursue him if it comes to that?”

All we really know is silly season has started in the NBA, and new names always pop up at this time of year. This year, it appears to be Fox’s turn. It may result in nothing, but as MacMahon and others are saying, it could be something, too.
