The NBA is expected to release its 2022-23 schedule the week after next, though it could be later, as first relayed by Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
That means the schedule release day is likely to fall in the Aug. 22-27 range at the earliest. (Last year’s schedule was revealed on Aug. 20.)
Of course, the league doesn’t really want to release its schedule without knowing where some of its biggest stars will be playing. Namely, Nets star Kevin Durant, who requested a trade last month.
The Jazz have also been exploring trades centered on Donovan Mitchell. And it’s no secret that the Lakers would like to unload Russell Westbrook.
Where these players eventually wind up will undoubtedly play a big role in the television schedule. That said, all three could return to their current situations, at least for training camp.
The NBA won’t wait that long to release the schedule, but it could be trying to stretch out the release date to a little bit later than usual.
