File this under blockbuster for a reason.
According to Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report, a hypothetical deal has Kyrie Irving landing with the Bucks alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The framework: The Mavericks send Irving to Milwaukee for Ryan Rollins, Kyle Kuzma, Bobby Portis and the No. 10 pick in the 2026 draft.
So, yeah. Not small.
Start with Milwaukee. The Bucks have won one playoff series since 2021. The pressure is there to maximize Giannis’ window. Irving would help.
The last time he was on the floor, he averaged 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists. Pair that with Giannis and you’ve got a two-man offense that can stress any defense. It’s easy to see the appeal.
On the other side, Dallas has a decision to make.
The Mavs kept Irving at the deadline, in part because of how he could help Cooper Flagg develop. But Flagg has shown flashes of handling more on his own.
That’s where the long view comes in.
“For as much as the Mavericks might want to see how Flagg would look with a healthy Irving, they should be more eager for the opportunity to add potential long-term building blocks,” Buckley wrote. “Adding a second top-10 pick… could be enormous.”
Irving is due $39.5 million next season and can hit free agency in 2027.
So yes, this is about timelines. Win-now in Milwaukee. Reset and build in Dallas.
It’s just a hypothetical proposal. But it checks a lot of boxes on both sides.
