A hypothetical trade proposal involving Ja Morant is making the rounds, and while it is not rooted in active talks, it does hit a few familiar notes.
Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report put together the following idea, sending Morant from the Grizzlies to the Bucks. Let’s take a look:
Bucks receive
- Ja Morant
Grizzlies receive
- Kyle Kuzma
- Kevin Porter Jr.
- Gary Harris
- 2032 first-round pick swap
Again, this is a writer’s exercise, not reporting. But the logic is easy to follow. Milwaukee is hovering around the middle of the Eastern Conference and has never been shy about pushing chips in during the Giannis Antetokounmpo era.
Drop Morant into that mix and the rim pressure would be relentless. The shooting fit would be the obvious concern, but that is a problem Milwaukee would gladly try to solve later.
On Memphis’ side, Morant’s name continues to surface in league chatter. The Grizzlies are listening, weighing options, and prioritizing draft flexibility and young pieces as they sort out the next phase alongside Jaren Jackson Jr.
Morant is 26, explosive, and still capable of tilting a franchise’s direction. Whether that happens in Memphis or somewhere else remains to be seen.
Hypothetical? Absolutely. But it is the kind of hypothetical that teams kick around more than they let on.
