The Anthony Davis trade chatter isn’t going away, and now Atlanta has entered the hypothetical mix.

NBA writer Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report floated a trade idea that would send Davis from the Mavericks to the Hawks, pairing the All-Star big man with Trae Young as Atlanta looks to raise its ceiling.

Proposed trade:

Hawks receive:
• Anthony Davis

Mavericks receive:
Kristaps Porzingis
Asa Newell
Luke Kennard
• 2027 first-round pick (top-four protected, via New Orleans or Milwaukee)

Atlanta has been mentioned as a potential suitor for Davis, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The Hawks are 15-12, while Dallas has stumbled to a 10-16 start. Porzingis, who previously played for the Mavericks, is on an expiring contract.

Buckley suggested the package may be close to the best Dallas could reasonably expect, pointing to the first-round pick and Newell’s long-term upside as a frontcourt fit alongside Cooper Flagg and Dereck Lively II. He added the Mavericks could look to reroute at least one veteran for additional assets.

Davis is earning $54.1 million this season, with $58.5 million owed next year and a $62.8 million player option for 2027-28. He has appeared in 20 games with Dallas since last season’s Luka Doncic trade, averaging 20.0 points and 10.5 rebounds.
