NBA trade proposal sends Zion Williamson to Knicks

The Knicks could be headed toward major offseason decisions.

If this current group doesn’t finish the job, changes are coming. That much feels clear.

One hypothetical trade idea making the rounds comes from Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report, who floated a deal that would send Pelicans star Zion Williamson to New York for OG Anunoby.

It’s the type of move that depends on how much risk you’re willing to take.

Williamson, when healthy, changes everything offensively. He’s a force at the rim and would give the Knicks a dimension they don’t currently have. The issue is the same one it’s always been: Availability.

Swartz pointed to New Orleans’ current frontcourt concerns, writing, “The Pelicans are going to have to take a hard look at their frontcourt this offseason… It may be time to part ways and focus on developing Queen’s game instead.”

There’s logic there. But Anunoby is one of the league’s most reliable two-way wings. He defends, he fits, and he’s on the floor. That’s the balance.

High upside versus dependability. The Knicks would have to decide which one they value more in a proposed trade like this.
