NBA Trade Rumors: Cavs, Kings, Lakers, Grizzlies Showing Interest In Nets’ Dorian Finney-Smith

Here’s something that’s not exactly new: Dorian Finney-Smith is drawing NBA trade interest. It’s something we’ve been discussing since, oh, about this time last year.NBA, Nets, Kings, Dorian Finney-Smith, Kevin Huerter

But this time, it feels different. After the Nets traded Dennis Schroder to the Warriors this past weekend … well, it feels like they are working on cleaning house.

Finney-Smith, Cameron Johnson and even Cam Thomas could be the next to go. And dare we utter the name of Ben Simmons?

Anyway, let’s stick to Finney-Smith.

Per Evan Sidery of Forbes and Hoops Wire sources, the Cavaliers, Kings, Lakers and Grizzlies are among those with trade interest. Again, not a big surprise.

As an added bonus, after shopping Finney-Smith last year, the Nets have reportedly lowered their asking price, which only increases the likelihood of a deal.

At 6-foot-7, Finney-Smith brings a unique skill set that has made him highly sought after by teams looking for a 3-and-D player. This season, he’s taking his game to new heights, shooting a career-high 44.8% from beyond the arc, which makes him an even more valuable asset.

His ability to stretch the floor and defend multiple positions has made him a key piece for the Nets, but Brooklyn’s willingness to move him suggests they might be rethinking their current roster composition.

For teams like Cleveland, Memphis, Sacramento, and Los Angeles, Finney-Smith could be the type of piece to offer a noticeable boost.

The Cavaliers, in particular, could use his defensive prowess on the wing as they aim to bolster their NBA-best record (21-4).

The Grizzlies would also benefit from Finney-Smith’s floor-spacing and versatility and the Kings and Lakers would be eyeing him as a potential upgrade for their respective forward positions.

Brooklyn, sitting at a crossroads in terms of its direction, has made it clear they’re open to moving Finney-Smith at the right price. With his suddenly high shooting percentage and defensive reliability, he could be a perfect fit for teams hoping to make a deep playoff run.

As the trade deadline approaches, expect his name to come up in more discussions. Bottom line? It’s likely Finney-Smith will be wearing a new jersey by season’s end.
