Charlotte would like nothing more than to finally see what this roster looks like with everyone on the floor. LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Kon Knueppel and Miles Bridges are all healthy, and the organization is hopeful that stretch provides some clarity.

That said, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports that Miller’s uneven availability has at least sparked quiet discussion around the league.

The former No. 2 overall pick was once viewed as completely untouchable, but rival executives are beginning to wonder if that stance could soften, depending on how the season unfolds.

Kuminga watch

The Kings remain among the teams keeping tabs on Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, Scotto reports. Sacramento’s interest has been consistent, even as others cool.

Phoenix’s interest, meanwhile, has waned, and Scotto confirms Brooklyn was never seriously involved. The Pelicans have been connected to Kuminga in the past as well, though it’s unclear whether New Orleans is still monitoring the situation.

Kuminga becomes trade-eligible Jan. 15, and his name is expected to stay in circulation.

Murphy III draws eyes

Golden State and Portland are among the teams high on Pelicans wing Trey Murphy III, per Scotto. Still, rival executives believe the Warriors would prioritize chasing a true superstar if one becomes available before parting with major assets for Murphy.

There’s also skepticism leaguewide that New Orleans would move him at all. Some executives speculate it would take a package similar to what Memphis received for Desmond Bane to even start that conversation.

Pacers-Kings talks

Following up on earlier reporting, Scotto notes that Pacers forward Jarace Walker came up during trade discussions with Sacramento.

However, those talks were described as exploratory, and it’s unclear which side floated Walker’s name.

Indiana has been active in center-related discussions and continues to survey the market as the deadline approaches.

  1. The team that brought up Jerome Walker’s name is the team he plays for.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a secret.. or unclear.

There are other scenarios where that could be incorrect.. but these team or beat reporter tricks to protect anonymity will be heavily scrutinized.
