Despite ongoing talks regarding an extension, the two sides have struggled to find common ground, with negotiations failing to gain significant traction.

Ingram is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason unless the Pelicans can secure a deal before then, making his situation even more pressing.

Ingram, who parted ways with Excel Sports in November to sign with Klutch Sports, has been a key figure in New Orleans’ offense this season.

Through 18 games, the former All-Star is averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists in 33.1 minutes per game. His scoring ability and all-around play make him an attractive option for potential suitors, especially considering his talent and relatively affordable contract for this season.

Earlier reports suggested that the Pelicans had interest in extending Ingram with a deal worth around $40 million per season, but those talks have failed to materialize. As a result, rival teams are already circling, with the Sacramento Kings and Utah Jazz both previously linked to Ingram in trade rumors.

Additionally, Hoops Wire sources indicate that the San Antonio Spurs could also be a team to watch in the race for the 26-year-old forward.

With the Pelicans potentially facing the loss of Ingram in free agency, trading him before the deadline could be their best move to secure assets in return.

Whether the team decides to negotiate an extension or part ways with their star forward, it’s clear that Ingram’s future with the Pelicans remains uncertain as the deadline nears.
