Shooting guard Dru Smith became a free agent after clearing waivers following his release by the Heat on Sunday.
Smith, 24, is 6-foot-3 and appeared in one game with the Heat after going undrafted out of Missouri in 2021. Miami signed him to the two-way deal on Oct. 13.
After Smith’s release, the Heat added center Orlando Robinson on their vacant two-way deal. Small forward Jamal Cain is their other two-way player.
While Smith could potentially land another two-way deal soon, he most likely is headed back to the G League, perhaps with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Miami’s affiliate. For now, he is officially an NBA free agent.
