Free agent forward/center Jason Thompson has signed a contract with the G League, Thompson told JD Shaw of Hoops Rumors.
Thompson, 35, is 6-foot-11 and last played in the NBA during the 2015-16 season, when he appeared in 19 games with the Raptors. He also spent a year with the Warriors, after playing for the Kings for the first seven years of his career.
Since then, Thompson has served two stints in China, with a stop in Turkey sandwiched in between.
Several older veteran players have recently used the G League as a path back to the NBA, such as guards Mario Chalmers and Isaiah Thomas. Clearly, Thompson is hoping to follow in such a pursuit.
As Shaw noted, Thompson has appeared in 588 NBA games overall.
