Free agent power forward Terrence Jones has agreed to a deal with the Grand Rapids Gold of the G League, agent Jerry Daniels told JD Shaw of Hoops Rumors. The Gold are the Nuggets’ affiliate.
Jones, 30, is 6-foot-9 and last appeared in the NBA when he played two games with the Rockets in 2018-19. He spent the first four years of his career in Houston, followed by stints with the Pelicans and Bucks.
“Terrence has absolutely dominated everywhere he’s been since last playing in the NBA,” Dianis said, via Shaw. “He averaged 32 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks per game in the Philippines. He’s a versatile player who’s also an exceptional rebounder and passer.”
Jones, a lefty out of Kentucky, was selected with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2012 draft. He has also spent time in China and Puerto Rico, as Shaw relayed.
Several veteran players have used the Gold to sharpen their games and return to the NBA this season. The list includes point guard Isaiah Thomas (Hornets) and guard/forward Lance Stephenson (Pacers).
Also, as we noted earlier, Gold wing and NBA free agent Nik Stauskas has scored 100 points over the last games combined.
