The NBA has voided the 10-day contract between the Knicks and point guard Ryan Arcidiacono, as relayed by Fred Katz of The Athletic.
The Knicks announced the deal on Monday, but because they had two players exit health and safety protocols, and released two players, they no longer qualified for a hardship exception.
That said, the Knicks still intend to sign Arcidiacono to a standard 10-day contract — as opposed to a hardship deal. Teams can begin signing players to regular 10-day deals on Wednesday.
“Mitchell Robinson and Jericho Sims both exited the health and safety protocols,” RealGM wrote. “New York waived Wayne Selden to open a roster to spot to acquire Denzel Valentine. The Knicks then waived Valentine later in the same day.”
Arcidiacono, 27, is 6-foot-3 and spent four seasons with the Bulls, initially signing a two-way contract before having it converted to a standard deal. He entered this past offseason and this is his first contract since then.
He most recently has been playing for the Maine Celtics of the G League, where he carries averages of 12.7 points, 8.0 assists and 5.7 rebounds. He averaged 3.1 points in 44 games with the Bulls last season.
