The Nets have reached agreement on two-year, $12 million contract with veteran guard Patty Mills, agent Steven Heumann told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
As Wojnarowski noted, Mills will arrive in Brooklyn following an impressive run with the Spurs, and adding significant depth to the backcourt of Kyrie Irving and James Harden.
The second year of the contract includes a player option, Wojarowski added.
“Given Brooklyn’s cap situation, the team will complete the signing using the taxpayer version of the mid-level exception,” wrote Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.
Mills, 32, is 6-foot-1 and averaged 10.8 points and 2.4 assists in 68 games with the Spurs last season, shooting 38 percent on 3-pointers and 91 percent from the free-throw line.
