The Nets have officially signed small forward T.J. Warren, the team announced in a press release.
He becomes the second notable move of the offseason, as they also acquired forward Royce O’Neale in a trade with the Jazz. Brooklyn, of course, is in the middle of a stalemate with its two biggest stars — as Kevin Durant has requested a trade and Kyrie Irving may be looking for the same.
Warren, of course, most recently spent time with the Pacers.
But as ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski noted, he has missed the vast majority of the past two seasons with foot injuries. That said, Warren was fantastic in the 2020 Disney bubble and the Nets are hoping a return to good health will help him discover some of that magic.
Warren, 28, last played more than four games in 2019-20, averaging 19.8 points and shooting 54 percent from the floor. He actually averaged 31 points in the Disney bubble that year, and went a sizzling 52 percent on 3-pointers. The Pacers lost to the Heat in the first round of the playoffs that year.
