Last season, they were swept in the first round of the playoffs by the eventual Eastern Conference champion Celtics, and are off to a sluggish 2-5 start this year.
Nash, 48, a former back-to-back NBA MVP as a point guard with the Suns, has compiled a 94-67 record overall.
During the offseason, Durant issued an ultimatum in which he wanted to be traded if the Nets didn’t fire Nash and GM Sean Marks. A the time, Nets owner Joe Tsai stood by both Nash and Marks.
“Our front office and coaching staff have my support,” Tsai tweeted on Aug. 8. “We will make decisions in the best interest of the Brooklyn Nets.”
