The Nets may not be finished after trading Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks. Instead, they may just be getting started.
Per Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Nets may have an interest in Raptors forward OG Anunoby, and possibly other members of the Raptors’ core. While Windhorst didn’t name other names, both Toronto guard Fred VanVleet and guard/forward Gary Trent Jr. are believed to be available.
Either way, ESPN’s Zach Lowe added that the Nets have “definitely” been calling the Raptors since the Irving trade. As we relayed here, they may be making guard Spencer Dinwiddie available. Along with small forward Dorian Finney-Smith and picks, the Nets landed Dinwiddie as part of the Irving trade.
“I still don’t know what the Raptors are going to do,” Windhorst said on The Hoop Collective podcast, via RealGM. “If the Nets could flip some of this stuff that they got and pry OG Anunoby out of there, you may have something there with the Nets, but I don’t know if they’re going to be able to.”
Nets star Kevin Durant has been linked to both the Celtics (full post) and Suns (full post), though sources have told Hoops Wire that Brooklyn does not plan to trade him (full post).
“I’m just telling you the Nets’ offering ability with what Toronto has is suddenly very interesting,” Windhorst said, via RealGM. “I’m just going to leave it at that.”
