Nets guard/forward Joe Harris has undergone a second surgery on his injured left ankle ligaments, the team announced in a press release.
Harris first underwent surgery in November, and the initial diagnosis was that he would miss a month or two. Clearly, it turned out to be more serious than that.
Still, the Nets say Harris will be ready for training camp ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Harris, 30, has appeared in just 13 games this season, having missed six before the initial surgery.
He averaged 11.9 points and 4.1 rebounds, shooting a sizzling 46 percent on 3-pointers. His perimeter marksmanship has been an underrated element to a Nets’ offense that includes Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
With new acquisition Ben Simmons seeming less likely to play as the days goes by, the loss of Harris becomes an even bigger deal as the playoffs approach.
